Tour de Purley - 11th June 2017

Patrick Williams are delighted to be sponsoring the Tour de Purley, a fantastic and popular local event now in its 4th year.
The Tour de Purley is a sponsored bike ride to raise funds for Purley Primary School and is brilliant fun, ideal for all the family – an excellent day out with a great atmosphere for everyone. With a variety of routes suitable for all ages and levels of fitness, riders will be able to take in the beautiful Berkshire countryside at your own pace over 5, 15 or 30 miles. These longer routes take you down Sulham Hill for a bit of fast freewheeling and then loop through Upper Basildon, Aldworth, and on the 30 miler, down Streatley Hill and up Garsons Hill near Checkendon for a really challenging climb. With an average gradient of 8.8% and up to 16% at one point you’ll definitely be needing refreshments after that one – phew! !
Starting out at Bucknells Meadow, just off Mapledurham Drive in Purley, there is also a shorter scooter or bike ride round the village for the younger family members. Enjoy a refuel after your ride with a barbecue and hot and cold refreshments on the Meadow and there will be a second hand bike sale, vintage cycle display free goody bags and medals for the children and so much more!
Last year over 200 people took part and this year looks to be even more popular, so sign up now and get your sponsorship form at www.tourdepurley.org Family and individual tickets are available, and there is a discount for booking in advance, although there is registration available on the day as well.
We hope the weather does us proud and that an amazing day is had by all!
